As the General Ophthalmic Services (GOS) guidelines state, minor eye conditions such as red eye, dry eye, inflamed eyelids, flashes of light and floaters, etc are not covered by a standard sight test, unless you are due for your routine annual or two yearly examination. If you are not yet due for this and require advice or assistance with something out of the ordinary not related to changes in vision, we may be able to see you on a private basis, usually by appointment.
We are often able to diagnose, advise on, and if necessary offer treatments or products to help with certain conditions. If a referral to hospital is necessary, and we will advise you accordingly. We will always try to gain as much information as necessary to decide if it is something we are able to help with before offering a private appointment. If we feel it is in your best interest to visit your GP or pharmacist, or even going to hospital yourself, we will do our best to advise you when you first contact us.
If you feel that your eye problem is something we may be able to help with, please call in or telephone 01995 605621 to discuss this further.
